Why is posture important?
Abnormal posture is linked to the development and progression of many spinal conditions and injuries including: increased muscle activity and disc injury, scoliosis, work lifting injuries, driving and sitting aches and pains, sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder and ankle injuries and many other conditions. Furthermore, postural faults in adolescent years have been established as one of the causes of pain syndromes and early arthritis in adulthood. Therefore, posture should be checked and corrected in children before more serious problems can occur.
According to the American Journal of Pain Management, "Posture affects all human function, consciously and unconsciously from breathing to thinking." Posture as a cause of health and disease is a paradigm shared by many.

Exerpt from The Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton, PhD
Our positive and negative beliefs not only impact our health but also every aspect of our life. Henry Ford was right about the efficacy of assembly lines, and he was right about the power of the mind: "If you believe you can or if you believe you cant... you're right."...Consider the people who walk across coals without getting burned. If they wobble in the steadfastness of their belief that they can do it, they wind up with burned feet. Your beliefs act like filters on a camera, changing how you see the world. And your biology adapts to those beliefs. When we truly recognize that our beliefs are that powerful, we hold the key to freedom. While we cannot readily change the codes of our genetic blueprints, we can change our minds.

Does chiropractic work?
Just wanted to add a quote:
"Medicine: the study of disease and what causes a man to die;
Chiropractic: the study of health and what causes a man to live."
-C.S.Gonstead
