1st Blog

I have another blog page that I started last summer. I couldn't quite figure out what direction to go with it so that page has kind of fallen by the wayside. I have a little bit of time on my hands now that my mid-terms are over so maybe I'll start my personal blogging again. Not too many people were interested with my boring life as a student so I'll have to come up with some interesting stuff to get some consistent followers. :)

In the meantime, I have created this blog page to promote my future career of CHIROPRACTIC medicine. I am more than half way finished with my DC (Doctor of Chiropractic) program @ Logan University in St. Louis. I am very excited about my future career and the people whose lives I will be positively impacting.

Before I delve into the good stuff, I'll tell you a little about myself and my background.

I have always been very active in sports. I ran track for 12 years competing in everything from the 100m to the 400m including both hurdle events, LJ and TJ. I was a cheerleader for 6 years, played basketball for 3 and did gymnastics and tea ball for about a month (dont ask, lol). Because of this background in athletics, it would be only natural for me to work with athletes. As a sports chiropractor I would work with athletes of all levels and every sport. There are several soft-tissue techniques that I am exploring while in school to supplement the chiropractic treatments I will be offering to each patient, athletes and non-athletes alike.

I received my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from The Florida State University (2005 and 2007). I am a 2006 All-American in the 400m hurldes... was a team captain my junior year (2005).

My current school (Logan) has a Master's Program in Sports Rehabilitation with a state-of-the-art Biofreeze Rehabiliation Center. Because of the overlap in this program with the Master's program I completed at Florida State, I decided it would not be beneficial to pursue a second Master's. However, I am very active in the hands-on portion of the program and will attain a Red Badge once I begin working in the student clinic. I will also pursue the CCSP (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician) certification once I graduate.

I am compiling a list of certifications I hold so be on the lookout for that. Also I will be posting my life purpose which is a list of objectives/goals that I have for my life and my career. The chiropractic stuff will be coming soon as well...
